  • Yes, absolutely! Breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening tests check for signs of cancer before there are symptoms or problems.

    Screening tests for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer can find cancer at its earliest stages when treatment is most successful.

  • You can call our program at (518) 525-8680 and talk to one of our staff who will determine your eligibility and if eligible, help you to complete your enrollment and set up your screening appointment.

  • Yes. There are Cancer Services Programs in every county of New York State who can assist you to find the most convenient location for you to be successfully screened.

    If you live outside of Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, or Saratoga counties, you can call 1-866-442-CANCER (2262) to be connected to a Cancer Services Program near
    you. The call is free, and operators take calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They also have translation for languages other than English.

  • Yes. We have interpreter services and bilingual staff who can help you.

  • Most likely yes, we work with many different medical providers throughout our 5-county service area, including St. Peter’s Health Partners, Albany Medical Center, Columbia Memorial Hospital, Saratoga Hospital and Community Care Physicians.

    We will work with you to find a medical provider that works best for you.

  • If the screening test finds something abnormal, diagnostic (testing) services are available through the Cancer Services Program for eligible individuals at no-cost.

    If breast, cervical or colorectal cancer is found, eligible individuals may be able to enroll in the New York State Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program (MCTP) to receive full Medicaid coverage for the entire time they are being treated for cancer.

    Cancer Services Program does not pay for prostate cancer screening or diagnostic services. However, individuals diagnosed with prostate cancer by a doctor in this program may be able to enroll in MCTP.
